Joe C. San Diego, CA: Originally from the Boston area I arrived in San Diego four days after Thanksgiving 1988 not knowing a sole in San Diego on my first and only “geographic”. I took my last drink on New Years eve 1988 and I celebrate my anniversary as Jan 1, 1989. I love the superb San Diego climate, the AA Fellowship, the coastline, the desert and the mountains. I have devoted my life to “love and service” in all areas of our AA Fellowship.

I walked into AA after a car wreck in 2011. My brother inspired me to make that night the best thing that ever happened to me. I originally got sober in New Jersey and now live in Connecticut with my beautiful wife, two kids, and two cats – all miracles made possible by this program. I love the life, love, and peace AA has given me, and I’m often moved to tears of gratitude for the miracles this way of life continues to bring.
