The Round-up planning committee works throughout the year to bring this weekend in February together. We meet on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 6pm. (No meetings in July & August)
Our meeting place is at the A.A. Service Center’s rear meeting room, 2513 James St., Syracuse, NY 13206.
We are always in need of volunteers to help out with each committee listed below.

Alkathon
Alkathons are events where we gather for marathon meetings. Alkathons help provide a safe, sober place for continuous recovery and fellowship.
Archives
Interested in History? An A.A. archive consists of any historical collection at the level of the group, district, area, intergroup/central office, region, or General Service Office. Email the intergroup archivist: archives@aacny.org
Accessibility
The accessibility committee explores, develops, and offers resources to anyone with significant barriers to participating in the Salt City Roundup. We want our event to be available to all anyone who wishes to attend.
Decorations
This committee provides decorations and is responsible for the purchasing, assembling, and set-up of the centerpieces for the Saturday night banquet. A budget for decorating is allotted. Decorations is responsible for coordinating any service workers required to assist with the decorating portion the event. Please email banquetsyr@gmail.com for more information.
Entertainment
The entertainment committee is responsible for the auditioning, acquisition and coordinating of the entertainment for the Saturday night dance. Their job is to make sure the event runs smoothly and that a good time is had by all.
Greeters
Volunteers on this committee welcome people as they arrive at the event location.
Hospitality
Do you like coffee? The Hospitality committee keeps the coffee pot running throughout the Roundup.
Literature
The literature committee provides AA printed materials for purchase.
Panels
There are panel sessions throughout the Roundup. These sessions have several panelists and a moderator. The panel committee is responsible for selecting the topics for the panels as well finding panelists and moderators.
Printing
The printing committee works behind the scenes leading up to the Roundup. This committee works closely with the Roundup Committee Chair and Co-Chair, the graphic designer, and various printing companies to arrange for the production of high-quality, visually appealing printed materials for the Roundup. Printed materials include pre-event mailings, a promotional flyer, the event program, and signage displayed throughout the event space.
Public Relations – Website
The public relations/website committee requires volunteers with technical knowledge. A basic understanding of website development languages like HTML and CSS is helpful, but not required.
Public Information Booth (A.A.)
This committee occupies the Public Information table at the event. Volunteers on this committee should be knowledgeable about AA, including the general functions of the AA General Service Office, Area 47, and District 340.
Registration
The registration committee works diligently leading up to the Roundup event to create and publish the registration page (through Eventbrite). During the event, volunteers for this committee register event attendees or check-in attendees who have pre-registered.
Talent Show
This committee is responsible for recruiting and planning the program for the talent show on the Roundup event program. It is helpful if volunteers know people with talent who want to perform at the event or have the necessary equipment to put on a talent show (amps, instruments, etc.).
Ushers
Volunteers on this committee ensure that the event runs smoothly. This includes enforcing the mandatory display of name tags (proof of registration), supporting the venue’s “no outside food” policy, ensuring event space rooms are only occupied by authorized parties, etc.
